Welcome home, Baby Amelia!

Welcome to the world, Amelia Faith!  Born 9/10/11, 5 lb 12 oz, 20-1/2".

A quick note of thanks to all of our helpers... my neighbor Sally (and her family), my friend Jen who took care of Abbey for 2 days, Cynthia and Karen who also helped with Abbey, my parents who are in town, and all of our hospital visitors!

Abbey's artwork for Amelia (don't know why it always rotates back horizontally):

First mani... she found it relaxing, I guess.

Laufrad

We got a Laufrad for Abbey this weekend.  Not entirely sure what they are called over here... push bike?  Balance bike?  Walk bike?  Any child over the age of 6 months in Germany has one (maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but they do start on them really young).  We had wanted to purchase one when we were in Germany, but never got around to it.  The other day at the park she seemed interested in it, so we decided to get one.  They are great for learning balance and in theory Abbey will never need training wheels.  Here are some pics from the Laufrad's first spin...
So excited!

I'm going!
Ok, I'm done.

Good first day.

Ballet

Or, Bahl-ay, as Abbey calls it.  One of my friends mentioned that she had signed her two year old up for ballet classes.  Anyone who has been around Abbey at the same time music is playing knows that she loves to dance.  We find this somewhat amusing because neither Stu nor I enjoy dancing at all.  We even refused to dance at our wedding reception, which doomed our relationship with our wedding coordinator (who insisted we dance).  But I digress.  So I signed her up, and I think it is the highlight of her week.  The teacher is so good... she manages to do a good job controlling a large group of 2/3 year-olds.  Here are a few pictures and some video from the last couple weeks...

Hopefully she won't be too embarrassed by this one down the road.  I think it is too cute...
