The Zoo

The weather was beautiful last Saturday so we decided to take advantage of it and we headed up to the zoo!  For some reason I really like zoos.  I have dragged Stu to zoos all over the place... before we had a kid!  It actually makes me a bit sad to see the animals out of their natural habitat.  Especially when they are pacing.  Yet I still go.  This was the first trip that Abigail seemed to really enjoy it.  Any time we would see an animal she would say, "More."  So on we would go to see the next.  Her favorites were the sea lions and the elephants.

The Dogs in Abbey's Life...

"Memer"
"Mash" (Followed by "G.G." and "Nice.")
"Meemoma"
"Hutch"
"Muirma"

Abbey loves dogs... until they get close, and then she's terrified of them.  Stu and I are both ok with her desire to keep a respectful distance.  Can you identify your dog on the list?  If she doesn't say your dogs name, don't be offended!  She just doesn't see pictures of them very often.

February

It's been a bit slow around these parts.  Not really "slow" in terms of nothing to do, because we have had a lot of moving going on!  When I say slow, I mean that we're not visiting multiple countries in a month!  Maybe "quiet" is a better word.  We have started to get involved in a few things around here.  Our library as storytimes for kids, so Abbey and I go to that about once a week.  One of my neighbors has started a sort of playgroup as well, so it's a good chance for us to meet some new people!

Here are some random pictures from throughout the month... not many stories behind any of them. I'll narrate if necessary!  Oh, and please forgive the "moving mess" in the background of all of the pictures.  I know I'm not historically known for my tidiness, but it's normally not this bad!

This is what happens when you have a skinny kid.  Abbey was walking around and all of a sudden I heard "Uh-Oh!"  I looked up and her pants were around her ankles!  I am considering suspenders... under her shirts, of course.

We were glad when our favorite things finally arrived from Germany!
My mom came up for a few days to help out with Abigail while I unpacked boxes.  Thanks, Mom!  That's my brother, Ty.  Abbey is glad to have her Uncle Ty around... she loves him!  I'm glad to have him around, too!

I'm not really a great photographer.  Stu got me an SLR camera for Valentine's Day.  Talk about a nice gift!  I love this camera.  It takes pictures so quickly and I think the colors are so much better!  It's much easier to get a good picture.  Thanks, wonderful husband!

One of Abbey's G.G.s (Great Grandmothers) gave her a Snoopy for Valentine's Day.  She loves it... she takes him to the park and has him go down the slide.  She makes sure he is well taken care of.  Oh, and she calls him "Soupy."

This is something I love about this new camera... see the water droplets coming from the cup?  So cool!

I get the impression that: A) her bite is pretty hard and B) it probably wasn't on accident.

Hope you all had a great February!
